Just riveting. They made a huge mistake canceling TERRIERS. it was just hitting its stride. I am going to have to pick up that KINDLE and download LATE RAIN. If my husband ever gives up reading Gogol on it. Come on. They have Gogol at the library.pattinase (abbott)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02916037185235335846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7907015820258768087.post-57230527995951719812010-12-15T11:16:53.492-08:002010-12-15T11:16:53.492-08:00Great list. Picking up some LATE RAIN.
And thanks...Great list. Picking up some LATE RAIN.

And thanks for the NEEDLE mention, sir. John Hornor Jacobs's genius makes all that great writing look so cool, and the work Naomi Johnson and Stephen Blackmoore and Dan O'Shea put in is invaluable. And it doesn't hurt that we've got such great authors/stories.

And speaking of great authors/stories, how about Spinetingler's new look and attitude? What great stuff. Looking forward to what you folks do in 2011.
Thanks, again, sir.Steve Weddlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03876211586767139613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7907015820258768087.post-14335394076945260342010-12-15T10:58:55.357-08:002010-12-15T10:58:55.357-08:00I'm with you on Kostoff, too, as of about a we...I'm with you on Kostoff, too, as of about a week and a half ago when I finished LATE RAIN. And, yeah, Jim Tully. I think I've read everything he's written now, though they're all old beat-up library versions. Also, if you haven't read it yet, AK Press re-released Jack Black's YOU CAN'T WIN not too long ago, and it's fantastic. And Jack London actually did one, too, called THE ROAD. Those are the best I've come up with of the lot.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7907015820258768087.post-9557210300829888492010-12-15T10:53:22.433-08:002010-12-15T10:53:22.433-08:00I'm with you on Lynn Kostoff (and agree about ...I'm with you on Lynn Kostoff (and agree about The Long Fall big time) as well as Late Rain.

And Whitmer's Pike ... excellent writing.
